Donating

Making donations, however small they are, is a wonderful thing to do in life. Through them, you are making a difference. Here are two "deals" on donations that I have come across this week, both for great causes:

LivingSocial is matching $5 donations made to the American Red Cross for the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund, so your $5 will make $10 of difference.

Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic are having their "Give and Get" sale today through Sunday, March 20. You get 30% off with this code and 5% of all that you spend goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

I feel like life wouldn't be worth living if I didn't think I was making a difference in someone's life every day. I hope that I make little differences in the lives of the people around me, even down to the smallest things I do.

I am so thankful for the people in my life who support me when tough stuff comes my way. We all know how it feels when things are less than perfect. Sometimes you can power through it on your own, but often the support of others makes all the difference. Support comes in many forms, from a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on to monetary donations and donations of time. The bottom line is we've all been in situations where things are "...Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad..." and severity and comparisons of issues aside, we all know what it's like to need support.

Give support to those in need.

Birthday Girl!

Happy Birthday to my lovely wifey, big ol' 26! I'm sure there will be a birthday post at some point from her, but thought I'd be the first to post about it! Off to bed, Monday mornings are no fun, but it's my little lady's birthday so that should start it off better than most! Love you honey!

I've got another food post coming soon, always willing to share recipes too (or accept them to try!). Been cooking a lot lately it seems, plenty of goodies in the fridge.

Oasis

Sometimes you just need to get away from it all...

...and that's exactly what we did this weekend.
Even when it's cold, gray, rainy, and no one else is around
a trip to the lake in the company of my husband and pup
makes everything seem better.
I forget my worries, or at least stop worrying about them for a while.
I feel free, like I can breathe again, even if just for a weekend.
And that's about all we can ask for, right?
Thank goodness for this oasis.
